I suffered from Myeloma. It’s horrible to lose a part of your body to cancer. Even though the loss is visible, it is still an invasion of your privacy as you didn’t give cancer the permission to enter your body.
You didn’t invite it! And you certainly didn't ask for chemo!
If somebody violates you, how do you get over that? Do you remain in victim mode and say ‘I am a victim to rape’?
You rise above it!!
You tell yourself that that person took a part of my body, but he/she didn’t take my soul!
When I went through cancer the doctors always told me that it’s the brain that controls the body. If you remain positive, your body will comply.
So it is more than important to love yourself limitlessly.
What makes you feel like a man/woman? What makes you feel sexy? (sexy doesn’t mean to attract sex, but to feel in love with yourself).
What makes you fall in love with yourself?
If you were talking to your cancer, and you were telling it what you want, how would you word it in the positive? Not "I don't want you to take my hair" but
"I WANT TO NOURISH MY HAIR,
I WANT TO WEAR SEXY UNDERWEAR,
I WANT TO GO TO THE GYM AND TAKE CONTROL OF MY BODY,
I WANT TO BUY THAT LITTLE NUMBER…."
Whatever makes you feel like you are on top of the world, that’s what you need to be doing.
You don’t need to take any hallucinogens to feel great! You can work on your mindset and feel even better than before you had cancer.
How can you become YOU?
Personally, I wore a wig even before I started chemo, just to get used to it and to get the others used to it.
Truth be told, stars wear wigs all the time, but not because they are going through chemo therapy, but because it’s in fashion (and easy).
So, I just told myself that I was a star and I was in fashion. Haha
Cancer is a time when your body needs all your attention. No more neglecting and forgetting to do sport and trivial things life brushing your teeth.
It’s time to shine and take care of your body.
If wearing a wig is not your thing, then a beautiful turban can look very trendy and fashionable.
So remember, you are beautiful, your mind is beautiful.
Get shopping, and buy some new clothes that suit your ‘new beautiful body’. Do sport everyday (could be just power walking, or yoga etc).
